On the afternoon of December 19, the 2018 Smart City Outstanding Solutions Selection Meeting organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and sponsored by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology was held in Beijing. The “Traffic Big Data Analysis and Application Platform” independently developed by our company stood out from over 170 cases reported by 31 provinces and cities, and was successfully selected as one of the top 10 outstanding solutions in the field of smart city governance by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2018.

The Traffic Big Data Analysis and Application Platform collects multiple traffic data such as “sea, land, air, railway and mail” through new generation information technologies including BeiDou/GPS, IoT, mobile internet, big data, cloud computing, AI, etc. It generates about 200 million pieces of traffic data every day, provides big data analysis components, draws traffic maps and prepares traffic reports to assist the government, enterprises and the public in the application of traffic big data in six major fields, including operating vehicle supervision, traffic situation perception, traffic safety management, traffic distributing guarantee, traffic credit evaluation and inter-city travel analysis. It offers big data decision support for smooth urban traffic, road transportation safety and public transportation travel, provides comprehensive information support for pre-event planning, in-process tracking and post-event judgment during major international conferences such as BRICS Xiamen Summit, Shanghai Cooperation Qingdao Summit, Straits Forum and 98 CIFIT, and implements all-round visual command and dispatch of traffic route safety work.

The platform has won multiple awards since it was put into operation. In early 2017, it was selected as one of the Top 50 National Cases of Outstanding Big Data Products, Services and Application Solutions by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (50 out of 451 nationwide) and was one of the only 2 outstanding traffic cases nationwide. In addition, it won many awards such as “12th Five-Year Plan China Intelligent Transportation Big Data Innovation and Application Award” and “2017 China Smart City Big Data Application and Innovation Award”. In this September, the platform was rated as “2018 National Big Data Industry Development Pilot Demonstration Project” by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. So far, the platform has been applied by Fujian Provincial Communications Department, Xiamen Municipal Public Security Bureau Traffic Police Detachment and Xiamen Municipal Transportation Bureau, and promoted to cities in Liaoning Province, Sichuan Province etc., achieving good economic and social benefits.

For thousands of years, human beings have never stopped exploring the ideal city. To some extent, the concept of smart city is the closest to people's ultimate fantasy of a better life. Xiamen GNSS will always uphold the mission of using information technology to improve urban traffic quality, promote in-depth application of new generation information technologies such as big data and AI in smart cities, and make urban governance scientific and accurate (R&D Center/ Human Resources Administration Department).
